Changes in the Line-up - Fall 2011

Trimac General Contracting is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean McEnaney to the position of General Manager. Sean has been instrumental in overseeing the development of efficiency timeline criteria, a factor so critical in the insurance industry today, promoting in-house staff training, developing and maintaining relations with our industry partners. His technical expertise and recent Certified Restorer designation are important individual and corporate achievements. While many of Sean’s prior responsibilities will not change the position of General Manager will provide Sean with greater autonomy to move Trimac forward in the right direction as we continue to provide service to the disaster restoration industry. Our commitment remains unchanged – providing service excellence on each and every project.

We congratulate Sean on his new position and look forward to the challenges of the future.

Fall Projects Around the Home
We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but the colder temperatures are right around the corner. As the dog days of summer come to a close, it’s time to get back to work with some important fall projects around the house. A few handy preventative measures can cut your heating costs and help avoid losses caused by frozen pipes and ice damming.
1.      Clean the Gutters: Removing leaves, sticks and other debris from the gutters prevents water back up which can cause severe damage to your eavestrough, roof and the inside of your home. This project is best to complete on a dry, fall day before ice and snow can make it unsafe.

2.      Clean Window Seals: With opening and closing the windows all summer, the seals can become clogged with dirt and debris preventing a tight seal from forming. This small gap can let plenty of heat out on those extra chilly days. Giving these seals a good cleaning before the cold season will help keep the heat in and reduce energy consumption and cost.

3.      Change Furnace Filters: Dirt, dust and debris easily accumulate in your furnace. This can impede moving parts and block airflow causing inefficiency and damage to your furnace. An easy, inexpensive way to keep your furnace running safely and efficiently is to change your furnace filters before it’s time to kick the heat on.
These few fall projects will prepare your home for the winter and hopefully prevent any damage when the cold weather hits.
Should you experience roof damage, flooding or any other damage to your home, Trimac staff is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to assist you at 1-800-808-8871.

Trimac Teams Up With Durham Sustain Ability To Go Greener!

Trimac is thrilled to announce their membership in the EcoBusiness program through Durham Sustain Ability! We are adopting new initiatives to conserve energy, reduce our waste and lessen our carbon footprint in the community. We are actively expanding these ideas and practices out of the Durham Region and taking them companywide.

We are reducing our energy consumption with campaigns like our “When in Doubt, Flip them Off” effort which encourages our staff to conserve energy in our 16 000 sq. ft. facilities by shutting off lights, computers and appliances in unoccupied areas.  Our over 35 service vehicles are frequently maintained, certified and e-tested to ensure they are running in top form. Trimac encourages its staff to avoid idling in an effort to reduce our CO2 emissions. Two passenger vans for our contents processing and cleaning staff allow us to transport several of our qualified staff members and their supplies to job sites in just one vehicle. We continue to research and adopt new initiatives in order to reduce our energy, fuel and resource consumption. Moving forward, we are recycling as much waste as possible as we aim to reduce our reliance on landfills and waste disposal facilities. Trimac uses refurbished toner cartridges in our printers and copiers and recycles as much paper as possible. Our “EcoBusiness Tips of the Month” provide our staff with new initiatives and challenges to take on each and every month to reduce pollution and energy consumption not only in the office, but at home as well.
Stay tuned as Trimac takes on more green initiatives and grows as an EcoBusiness!

Trimac General Contracting's Toronto Branch Manager Achieves "CR" Designation

Trimac General Contracting is pleased to announce that Sean McEnaney was awarded the Certified Restorer (CR) certification from the Restoration Industry Association.

After an arduous examination period and the challenging selection process, Trimac General Contracting’s Toronto Branch Manager, Mr. Sean McEnaney, has been awarded the “Certified Restorer” designation by the Restoration Industry Association.

This highly recognized designation was bestowed upon Sean after he successfully completed all facets and requirements for the advanced certification program. Sean’s diligence and hard work are commendable and in March of 2011 he will take the stage at the RIA’s annual convention for the formal induction ceremony where his achievements will be honoured.

Sean McEnaney’s formal report for submission to the association covered the process of an emergency water damage claim undertaken by Sean and Trimac General Contracting. His report exquisitely details the restoration process from emergency mitigation to final repairs and as Sean tells us “it was an intense and rewarding learning experience. The certified restorer course will broaden your outlook on the encompassing world of disaster restoration. The designation is a great honour.” Sean also wanted to extend his sincere gratitude to Marty King (Course Architect and Principal Instructor) for offering such a well run, informative avenue for advanced studies in our industry.
